PATRON<\/h3>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

Malaysian Institute of Planners (MIP) has honoured the Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad by appointing him as its patron at a special luncheon, on 7th November 2012 in conjunction with MIP\u2019s 40th anniversary. \nTun Dr. Mahathir is regarded as a foremost planner of the country with his visions on economic planning and strategies that have impacted the spatial planning, development and physical form of the country. \nHis involvement in planning Putrajaya, Cyberjaya and the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) has changed our country in many ways. It was Tun Dr. Mahathir\u2019s knowledge and experience of more than 25 years in leading this nation that had merit this recognition.\n<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

YAB. Tun Daim Zainuddin<\/h2>

HONORARY FELLOW<\/h3>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

YAB. Tun Daim Zainuddin was born\nin 1938 in Derga, Alor Star, Kedah.\nHe graduated with degree in Law in\n1959 and subsequently continued\nhis study in Urban Planning at the\nUniversity of Berkeley, California\nfrom 1977 and graduated in 1979.\nHe is a successful corporate and\npublic sector fi gure holding various\npositions at national and\ninternational level. YAB. Tun Daim\nZainuddin has been awarded\nHonorary Fellowship of Malaysian\nInstitute of Planners in 1994 to\ncommemorate his contributions to\nthe country and advancement in\ntown planning fi eld.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

HONORARY FELLOW<\/h3>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

TYT Tun Pehin Sri Haji Abdul Taib\nMahmud was born in 21 May 1936.\nHe is the Yang di-Pertua Negeri of\nSarawak, in offi ce since 2014.\nPreviously he was Chief Minister of\nSarawak from 1981 to 2014. TYT Tun\nemphasised and endorsed town\nplanning as part of the approach to\ncreate a better and sustainable living\nenvironment in Sarawak through\nphysical, economic, industrial\ndevelopment and social integration.\nTYT Tun has been awarded Honorary\nFellowship of Malaysian Institute of\nPlanners in (insert year) in recognition\nof his contribution (physical and\neconomic development, social\nintegration and industrialisation in\nSarawak).<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

YBhg. Tan Sri Dato' Seri (Dr) Hj.\nAbu Hassan Omar was born on 15\nSeptember 1940 in Bukit Belimbing,\nKuala Selangor, Selangor. He was the\n12th Menteri Besar of Selangor from\n1997 to 2000. He received tertiary\neducation at the University of Hull\nmajoring in Area and Regional\nDevelopment in 1973. YBhg. YBhg. Tan Sri Ahmad Fuad Ismail\nwas born on 16th July 1953 in\nKedah. He was the 9th Mayor of\nKuala Lumpur from 2008 to 2012.\nThrough his 5 years tenure as\nMayor of Kuala Lumpur, Tan Sri\nAhmad Fuad has contributed to\ntown planning fi eld in many ways,\nsuch as the introduction of One\nStop Centre (OSC) to improve the\ndelivery process in issuance of\nconstruction permits and Kuala\nLumpur City Plan to regulate and\nguide the development of Kuala\nLumpur.
